Water is the basis of life known to mankind. Humanity, through civilizations, has marked its progress by ever expanding use of water. Over exploitation of all known fresh water resources is the result. The future holds no new sources of natural freshwater. Even the hitherto unexploited vast Arctic icecap and Antarctic ice shelves are melting and shrinking, dissolving rapidly into the ever-expanding, thirsty oceans. Global Warming as a consequence of anthropogenic Climate Change is dangerously altering the freshwater resource map of terra firma.
